Does the chain of command get affected when people earn more?

Nkeli says if anyone fails to adhere to authority because of how much they are earning (if they are earning more than their manager) then there is a behavioral issue that needs to addressed.

If you look at a sales person making a lot of money, they may be a little bit pompous, they may feel a little bullet proof because the company needs them and if they leave they might go to the competitors.

Nkeli spoke about power balance between employer and employee, where an employee has so much power and the company will have to go out of its way to retain them.

The power balance where an employer had all the power is gradually changing over time. The power shift has moved a little bit to the employee, particularly high performing, value adding employees.
