Max Du Preez says Zille has no option but to resign

Author and columnist Max Du Preez says Helen Zille may have no other option but to resign as Premier of the Western Cape and a senior member of the Democratic Alliance.

Responding to tweet in which Zille claimed ‘not everything about colonialism was bad’, Du Preez says it is unforgivable and a disciplinary hearing will not suffice.

My argument was, in my column, that if she goes to the disciplinary hearing and she doesn’t get kicked out, the black contingent of the DA will find it very difficult in future to counter the argument that they are just black puppets serving white power block.

Max du Preez, Author

If the disciplinary hearing does kick her out, her white followers will mobilise as they are doing now and it will further divide the party.

Max du Preez, Author

She is not just a member, she is the matriarch, she was the architect of the new DA so her presence hovers over the DA and for her to hold these views that insult every member of the DA is untenable.
