Poultry industry cries foul

Poultry is the primary agricultural sector in South Africa reports EWN correspondent Gaye Davis.

She attended the Trade and Industries Portfolio Committee in Parliament on Thursday as it tries to get to the nub of why the industry believes it is in such trouble.

The chicken being 'dumped' in SA is meat that is not able to be sold overseas becasue customers there only eat certain parts of the bird.

But what is the effect of these imports ont he local poulty industry? Unions have criticised the potential job losses.
