ANCWL criticized for inaction after taxi rape incident

Redi Tlhabi asks Jacqui Mofokeng, ANC Women's League (ANCWL), Gauteng spokesperson why they are yet to release a media statement on the rape of a woman in a taxi because their voice carries weight. Mofokeng responds by saying the communities involvement in reporting cases could assist with fighting such scourges.

Mofokeng says the ANCWL Gauteng branch is doing work on the ground without it being reported to the media.

There is nothing admirable about work behind the scenes when rape is in our faces.

Redi Tlhabi, Host, Afternoon Drive

Mofokeng says the ANCWL is involved in a programmes in conjunction with the Department of Justice assisting women who are victims of domestic violence. She says they attend court cases and visit families of victims of various crimes.
