How Zambeef became Zambia's largest integrated agribusiness

Zambeef says it feeds the nation, and it’s true!

Nikiwe Bikitsha

Lusaka is the rapidly developing capital of Zambia. As the country’s largest city; it is the centre of government and the heart of commerce.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed celebrated journalist Nikiwe Bikitsha, who is exploring business opportunities in Lusaka.

Bikitsha discussed Zambeef, one of Zambia’s largest employers, which is principally involved in the production, processing, distribution and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, milk, dairy products, eggs, stockfeed and flour. The group also has large row cropping operations (principally maize, soya beans and wheat), planting 16,500 hectares in summer and 8,000 hectares in winter. The group is also expanding its West Africa operations in Nigeria and Ghana.

Zambeef is involved in every aspect of the value chain. It is the largest food processing company in Zambia and the region.
