WC deadline for 2018 school enrolment hits

It's the last day to apply to government schools if you are wanting to send your child to start grade 1 or grade 8 next year.

The Western Cape Education Department (WCED) says it has not yet had any major challenges with parents applying to enroll their children.

Jessica Shelver, WCED ministerial spokesperson says some parents are completing applications while others have already applied to multiple schools.

Shelver advises that parents should submit their application to schools before closing or make arrangements for next week in exceptional cases.

She explains that schools have to respond to applications with a written letter by no later than June 3.
