'Comrade Kathrada was incorruptible, would never do something behind your back'

African National Congress (ANC) and struggle stalwart Ahmed Kathrada is receiving an official funeral led by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa at the Westpark Cemetery in Johannesburg.

Speaking on behalf of the ANC, secretary general, Gwede Mantashe, described Kathrada as "hero, veteran, revolutionary".

Mantashe said Kathrada loved freedom for others more than he did for himself.

Kathy possessed a rare combination; wisdom and humility in one.
