A suspect has been taken in for interrogation by police in connection with the death of a missing 11-year-old girl found in Mitchells Plain.
The motive behind the murder of Stacha Arendse remains unclear.
A 31-year-old man has been taken in for questioning, reports EWN's Lauren Isaacs.
According to police, the man has not yet been formally charged.
It is believed that he lives in the same area as the deceased, but this is yet to be confirmed. Details are still sketchy at this stage.— Lauren Isaacs, EWN reporter
Arendse was reported missing on Monday evening and was found murdered on a soccer field in Mitchells Plain, behind the Swartklip Centre, on Tuesday morning.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday evening and a community march is expected to take place on Thursday.
