Ford SA recalls Ford Fiesta ST models

Motoring company, Ford South Africa has recalled 1 078 Ford Fiesta ST models in the country due to a lack of coolant system.

Motoring journalist at Business Day, Lerato Matebese, says Ford Fiesta ST uses a similar engine as the Ford Kuga, 1.6 ecoboost engine, which was recalled earlier in the year.

According to Ford South Africa, no Ford Fiesta has been reported of burning in the country, but this is just a precautionary recall.

According to Matebese, Ford says a lack of coolant circulation could cause an engine to overheat‚ resulting in a crack in the cylinder head, which could potentially lead to a risk of fire.

This could be a good thing for them to actually report any issues before they even happen.
