The DA to go ahead with its march on Luthuli House on Friday

The Democratic Alliance (DA) says it will go ahead with a planned march to Luthuli House in Johannesburg on Friday.

The party announced last week its intention to table a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma in Parliament after a cabinet reshuffle that led to the axing of Pravin Gordhan as Finance Minister.

The scheduled march is aimed at lobbying African National Congress MPs to vote with them.

If you want to get a message through to the ANC MPs, to do something different, that is the place where it has to take place.

Lobbying is taking place but essentially if we are going to break that log jam we have to persuade Gwede Mantashe to provide different instructions....

We wish to deliver a memorandum to the ANC to express our view that they should join with us in voting this person out of office.

Meanwhile formal disciplinary action is being instituted against Western Cape Premier Helen Zille over a series of comments on colonialism.

On Sunday DA leader Mmusi Maimane said that the hearing will come to a finding and that the party cannot be brought into disrepute.
