National Spokesperson of South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) Paseka Letsatsi says they are happy with the outcomes of grant payments starting from April 1.
Letsatsi says 90% of payments went as they anticipated and they are monitoring the payout process for those who will be getting their money at Sassa pay points.
We just want to say to our beneficiaries that if they experience any problem they can get in touch with us.— Paseka Letsatsi, National Spokesperson of South African Social Security Agency
There were uncertainties with regards to grant payments as the contract with Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) came to an end in March but the contract has since been extended by 12 months by the Constitutional Court.
There were a number of complaints from beneficiaries of shortages between R4 - R20.
Once we are done with these payments both electronically and on pay points then we can be able to make an analysis in terms of what is happening... as an organisation we will be able to make an intervention.— Paseka Letsatsi, National Spokesperson of South African Social Security Agency
Letsatsi says Sassa officials have been deployed nationwide to make sure the pay points process goes smoothly and for them to deal with any kind of problems that arises.
