The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has collected R1.144 trillion in tax for the 2016/2017 financial year, breaking the trillion rand mark for the second year in a row.
Commissioner Tom Moyane made the announcement in a briefing on Monday.
Moyane says this outcome is fractionally above the revised estimate that was announced during this year's budget. Eyewitness News reporter Gia Nicolaides attended the briefing.
