Customised tombstones celebrate the personality of the deceased

Actor and singer Joe Mafela's tombstone received many comments from people amused by the masterpiece.

The tombstone features a flatscreen TV, a TV unit, coffee table and a sofa.

Lebohang Khitsane, CEO Bataung Memorials and Tombstones, says he visits different cemeteries around the world and gets inspiration from them.

He says a tombstone needs to show the personality of the deceased.

Their tombstones needs to be characterised so that people can see who this person was...

Bataung Memorials also created a tombstone for Gugu Zulu who died while climbing Mount Kilimanjaro as well as South African boxer Baby Jake Matlala.

Khitsane says advanced machinery and technology makes it easy to create these master pieces in a matter of days rather than months.
