South Africans have had to deal with a great deal of bad news over the past few days.
Clinical psychologist and Board Member of the South African Depression and Anxiety Group, Zamo Mbele, discusses the impact of the negative news we consume in the media daily.
Mbele says how we consume and react to negative stories in the media can be good but it also has the potential to be destructive.

Mbele advises that we consume everything in moderation to avoid detrimental effects to your our mental health.
He also says that social media can be detrimental when consumed in excess because of the pressure to stay informed and up to date with current affairs.
