On a scale of one to ten, how likely is Zuma to step down?

EWN Reporter and The Midday Report host, Stephen Grootes, spoke to John Maytham about the aftermath of the infamous Cabinet reshuffle, implemented by President Jacob Zuma.

Grootes says former Finance Minister, Pravin Gordhan, was a symbol of many things within the African National Congress (ANC).

He was the fault line and why are we surprised that is was the person who controls the money that was the fault line.

Stephen Grootes, EWN Reporter and Midday Report host

We're certainly seeing a massive change within the ANC along that fault line.

Stephen Grootes, EWN Reporter and Midday Report host

On a scale of one to ten, one being extremely unlikely and ten, dead cert, how likely is it that Parliament will pass a motion of no confidence in Jacob Zuma?

I think it's unlikely John. One of the fundamental philosophical problems Ii would have with that option is that people are elected to Parliament by the party. You vote for the ANC you don't vote for the member of Parliament to exercise their conscience.

Stephen Grootes, EWN Reporter and Midday Report host

And then on a scale of one to ten. How likely is it that the ANC's National Executive Committee will recall President Zuma from the presidency?

This is where you really get down to the actual story. It is incredibly unlikely.

Stephen Grootes, EWN Reporter and Midday Report host
