I have served the ANC with dignity and integrity - Dipuo Peters

The ANC and Parliament confirmed minister of transport Dipuo Peters’ resignation as a member of the National Assembly.

Peters was among the five ministers fired by President Jacob Zuma last week including Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan.

Speaking to CapeTalk's Pippa Hudson, Peters stated health reasons as her primary concern saying she will be available to assist the ANC in the coming six months.

Peters says that her axing from Cabinet did not come as a surprise.

I always tell people that once you enter a position, your only other way is your way out so it wasn't a surprise.

Dipuo Peters, outgoing Transport Minister

Peters thanked her family, North-West province and the ANC for the support they've given to her over the years.

I am putting the reigns down with dignity and integrity because I served the ANC diligently. There has never a day that the ANC had to look away in shame because of what I have done.

o Peters, outgoing Transport Minister
