[CARTOON] The speech that gave Julius a seizure!

Dr Jack & Curtis take a satirical look at ANC secretary general Gwede Mantashe's about turn after earlier criticising President Zuma for making a Cabinet reshuffle without consultation.

Following last Thursday's midnight Cabinet reshuffle and firing of then finance minister, Pravin Gordhan, African National Congress (ANC) secretary general, Gwede Mantashe was visibly unsettled.

He stated that President Jacob Zuma went ahead with his decision to axe Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan and his deputy Mcebisi Jonas despite unhappiness from the national executive committee (NEC).

After the ANC national working committee meeting, Mantashe made it clear that those who had spoken out in public against the reshuffle had erred. The ANC was fully behind the changes and backed the new finance minister.

Political analysts argue that Gwede Mantashe has humiliated himself by changing his initial statement regarding the Cabinet reshuffle.
