Public asked to use Newlands Spring with caution

On Monday, Newlands Brewery released a press statement urging the public to refrain from abusing the free water facility at the Newlands Brewery.

John Stenslunde, General Manager, Newlands Brewery says it is too soon to tell if their plea has had a real impact.

We haven't seen anyone come in looking for a thousand litres.

Stenslunde adds that security guards at the premises reported an incident of someone who came in with 25 litre containers. Security then told the individual that it was prohibited to fill up that amount of water.

Stenslunde says they continue asking the public to use the water from the spring within recommended limits.
