Doctoral student's thesis is a rap album

A student at Clemson University in South Carolina challenged the status quo when he decided to present his PhD dissertation as a rap album.

A.D Carson combined his passion for activism, poetry, hip hop and academia in producing his thesis.

He studies Rhetorics, Communication and Information Design and hopes to teach hip hop composition, where hip hop and literature can be converged.

A.D Carson, PhD student

Owning My Masters: The Rhetorics of Rhymes and Revolutions is the 34 track rap album which Carson discusses the role race and identity plays in society today.
