'SA not heading for civil war, reshuffle disturbed factional balance of power'

Political analyst, Professor Steven Friedman, says the current civil society uprising with calls for President Jacob Zuma to resign as well as divisions within the African National Congress (ANC) will continue to grow.

However, Friedman says growing concerns about the future of the country under Zuma's leadership does not mean that South Africa is heading for a civil war.

He explains that the ANC will have to be extra careful about its decisions between now and the next national government elections in 2019.
