“There were many streets filled with people," says EWN’S Lindsay Dentlinger. "This was not a tiny protest.”

The Cape Town leg of Friday’s anti-Zuma marches concluded without any incidents, said EWN’s Lindsay Dentlinger in an interview with CapeTalk’s John Maytham.

She described the march as “festive" and “a sight to behold”.

The city gave permission for 8000 people to march, but there were clearly several times more people participating than that.

“There were many streets filled with people, “said Dentlinger. “This was not a tiny protest.”

Dentlinger agreed with Maytham when he suggested it was probably the most demographically representative protest in Cape Town since the UDF days in the 1980s.

For more detail; listen to the interview in the audio below.
