South African commuters are advised to use alternative transport on Wednesday as drivers in the South African bus industry participate in nationwide strike action.
Bronwen Dyke-Beyer, spokesperson for Golden Arrow Bus Services (GABS) says there will be no buses operating on Wednesday.
We will have a lock-out, which means no staff will enter our premises and none of our vehicles will leave the premises. This is to make ensure that our passengers and staff are safe.— Bronwen Dyke-Beyer, Public Relations Manager at Golden Arrow Bus Services
Dyke-Beyer says they have been working very hard to reach an agreement with the unions but unfortunately all services will have to be suspended on Wednesday.
Bus drivers affiliated to different unions are demanding a 12% increase across the board.
