Naspers now owns part of the largest car manufacturer in the US

Pretoria native Elon Musk’s Tesla has overtaken General Motors to become the largest US car maker by market capitalisation.

Tesla’s share price rose by 3.26% to a record high of $312.39 on Monday.

It now has a market value of $50.887 billion, slightly more than that of GM.

Naspers owns 1.7% of Tesla via its shareholding in Tencent.
