Pretoria native Elon Musk’s Tesla has overtaken General Motors to become the largest US car maker by market capitalisation.
Tesla’s share price rose by 3.26% to a record high of $312.39 on Monday.
It now has a market value of $50.887 billion, slightly more than that of GM.
