Drone innovation increases demand for permits

The Civil Aviation Authority says it has licensed nearly 500 drones since introducing regulations that allow people to use them under certain conditions.

Drones allow people to observe activity from the sky, and take film and photographs.

Drone operator, Jono O’Connell, says the increase in demand is related to technology improvements introduced annually in drones.
