Private long distance bus companies face threats amid bus strike

It appears private bus operators have been intimidated and threatened with violence for continuing to operate amid a nationwide bus strike.

Thousands of bus drivers affiliated to various trade unions downed tools on Wednesday.

The owner of Africa People Move (APM) bus service, Tumisang Kgaboesele says private bus operators were attacked and threatened not to operate at bus terminals.

The whole of yesterday we could not use a Cape Town or Durban bus terminal, Umtata was also a no-go area.
