Western Cape Traffic Chief, Kenny Africa, described what happened on the roads during the Easter weekend as "total madness".
Africa says there were 23 fatalities on Western Cape roads since last Thursday.
According to Africa 37 drunk drivers were arrested this weekend with the highest reading of 1,3ml which is 9 times over the legal limit.

Africa says they are concerned with the number of motorists who are driving drunk on the roads. He spoke of a man who was caught driving drunk with five children in a car and he was immediately arrested.
