DA Western Cape - De Lille or Max?

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the Western Cape will be holding its elective conference on Saturday and Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille remains the favourite candidate to be elected provincial leader. However, the former Western Cape Police Commissioner and Community Safety MEC Lennit Max is also in the running.

Prof. Sipho Seepe, Independent Political Analyst says that the elections have a positive element because the people in the running have been in politics for some time.

De Lille has a solid background historically and also at the level of managing the City. She has also served as a provincial MEC. She has a bigger profile not only in the Western Cape but also nationally.

Max is reported as saying his campaign is going well and one of his key campaign messages was to "bring back debate in the DA".
