"May be a sinister motive behind SABC office break-in at Parliament" Right2Know

Parliamentary spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says it was established that there was no forced entry at the SABC offices in Parliament where a break-in took place.

He says of the two doors that lead into the newsroom, the one that is normally locked is the one that was used to gain access to the newsroom.

Secondly, the security cords attached to the alleged stolen laptops were not cut but a key were was used to detach them.

Mothapo says Parliament security will also look at the Security camera footage to see who was at that particular office at the time of the alleged crime.

We continue to urge them to take good care of those facilities to ensure that there is vigilant security.

The Right to Know Campaign's Murray Hunter says based on the information they have, it seems this was an opportunistic crime.

It is impossible not to speculate that there maybe a more sinister motive behind this and that is extremely worrying.

There's an additional concern behind the integrity of Parliament and the fact that there's been a break-in at Parliament at the time when the security has been increased is also worrying.
