Shop owners in Coligny say the ongoing protests in the North West town has had devastating impact on their business.

Several houses belonging to farmers were set alight and at least 10 shops have been looted, reports EWN's Pelane Phakgadi.

Leteane says residents might only call off their protest if the boy’s killer is handcuffed.

According to Leteane, this is not the first instance of tensions between farmers and locals in Coligny.

He says that he will hold a meeting with aggrieved residents.

For now there is not response from our municipality because these protests is not about service delivery.
