Freedom Movement calls for civic action at anti-Zuma rally

The newly formed Freedom Movement is holding an anti-Zuma march at the Caledonian stadium in Pretoria.

EWN's Pelane Phakgadi says several thousand supporters have arrived to join the mass march led by opposition parties, religious fraternities, students, academics and civil society groups.

The organisation, comprised of opposition parties including the DA, UDM and Cope arranged the protest to continue putting pressure on President Jacob Zuma to step down.

UDM leader Bantu Holomisa addressed the crowds earlier urging the people to take action and make their voices heard.

DA leader Mmusi also reiterated that now is the time for active citizenship, Phakgadi explains.

The Freedom Movement has vowed to continue their marches across the country.
