Zuma takes a dig at his detractors and laments political immaturity

President Jacob Zuma has delivered the keynote address at Freedom Day celebrations in Manguzi in KwaZulu-Natal today.

Thousands gathered and received Zuma with a warm welcome in his home province, reports EWN's Ziyanda Ngcobo.

The President, speaking in isiZulu at first, took a few jabs at his detractors and those marching against him on Thursday.

He then gave his official address in English talking about the state of South Africa and what he called political immaturity.

He said just because we are in a democratic dispensation now, it doesn't mean that politics is about hurling insults and screaming at each other.

The President also appeared to be cordial with deputy president Cyril Ramaphosa, who has in recent weeks distanced himself from some of Zuma's actions.
