What men need to know about checking for prostate cancer

Prostate cancer is the second most common kind of cancer, after skin cancer, explains urologist and sexual health expert Dr Shingai Mutambirwa.

Dr Shingai says that it is important for men to get their prostates checked at least once a year, particularly after the age of 40.

He explains that the exam typically involves a digital rectal exam (DRE) and a test for prostate- specific antigen (PSA) levels.

According to Dr Shingai, data shows that black African men are at higher risk of prostate cancer.
