Tips on how and where to travel this winter

Anje Rautenbach, Freelance Travel writer and bBlogger, Going Somewhere Slowly says winter should not stop you from traveling.

One of my favourite things about traveling in winter is taking advantage of the off-peak season discounts.

Rautenbach says national parks are the best in winter especially for game viewing, because the bush's thin out and your chances of spotting a lion are far greater than in warmer weather.

She also recommends a visit to the Eastern Cape for outdoor activities. To experience the most hours of sunshine in the year, you should head on out to the Sunshine Coast in Port Alfred.

If you want to experience snow, Tiffindell Ski Resort is the place to be.
