DA City of Joburg says its constrained by previous ANC administration's budget

City of Joburg Mayor spokesperson, Tony Taverna-Turison, says the focus and direction of the Democratic Alliance-led administration will be addressing social and economic inequalities in the City.

Taverna-Turison says there will be a clear change in priorities of the City when the 2017/2018 budget comes into effect.

He says the Mayor is very committed to working with the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and meet agenda of different parties working in Johannesburg.

Mashaba delivered his first State of the City Address (Soca) on Wednesday focusing on the "forgotten people of Joburg".

Responding to criticism that Mashaba focuses too much on corruption, Taverna-Turison says corruption should be tackled to address the infrastructure backlog in the City.
