National Health Lab Service suspends yet another senior official

Graham Motsepe has been suspended as the head of procurement at the National Health Laboratory Service (NHLS), pending the outcome of a disciplinary inquiry by the organisation’s board.

Motsepe is the third senior official to be suspended by the board.

Board chairperson, Eric Buch, says this shows they are doing what the were appointed to do, otherwise they wouldn't have picked up these alleged contraventions of the Public Finance Management Act.

We are a public entity and we use public money. The board has to make sure that the public money is well looked after and efficiently spent.

Eric Buch, Board chairperson
