Des Van Rooyen explains why Zuma left Vuwani and failed to meet community

President Jacob Zuma failed to address residents at Vuwani in Limpopo, after promising to disclose to them the outcome of a meeting over demarcation on Sunday.

Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta) Minister Des Van Rooyen was also booed by residents, and prevented from speaking.

Van Rooyen says they had to leave the meeting because not enough residents attended the meeting, and the situation became volatile.

He says the residents meeting was attended by people who are opposing the demarcation. Van Rooyen explains that residents came from 8 wards out of 36 wards under the municipality.
