Parktown Boys coach accused of sexually abusing 20 pupils

Parktown Boys' High School water polo coach has been accused of assault after surveillance footage allegedly caught the teacher fondling pupil's genitals.

School Governing Board member, Nicholas Greyling, says the video was discovered in November last year, and police were then involved in the matter.

Greyling says 20 pupils have brought accusations against the 22-year-old assistant hostel master.

Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi says it is unfortunate that the matter was not communicated well with the department and he expressed his disappointment in the school.

It's a very inappropriate touching of a minor by the assistant hostel master... what we saw there that night was first disbelief, from disbelief it goes to shock, after that the anger starts setting in when you see the reality of the whole issue. It was disturbing to say the least.

The suspect will appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate Court on Wednesday on charges of sexual grooming of children, sexual assault and assault.
