Anti-Zuma march heads to ConCourt on day of secret ballot bid, Maimane explains

Opposition parties and civil society groups plan lead an anti-Zuma march to the Constitutional Court on Monday (May 15).

This is on the same day that the ConCourt will hear the application for a secret ballot in Parliament's for a vote of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma.

The gathering will include the DA, EFF, UDM, Agang SA, Cope, Freedom Movement, IFP, ACDP and SaveSA.

DA leader Mmusi Maimane says that the groups will abide by the Con Court's ruling on the matter, regardless of the outcome.

Maimane has urged ANC MPs and SACP members and other vocal Zuma critics in Parliament to vote with their conscience.

It speaks to the very heart of accountability... MPs must be allowed to vote with freedom.

He refutes claims that the courts have been overreaching and says they have been safe-guarding the Constitution.

Maimane has encouraged South Africans to come out in their numbers.

The march will start at 8am from Marry-Fitzgerald Square in the Johannesburg city centre and end at the Constitutional Court.
