How to make money by investing in classic cars

Earlier this month, the Knysna Motor Show once again shined the spotlight on the growing number of investments in classic cars.

More and more avid classic car connoisseurs are seeing the value in this “passion hobby” and yielding the returns from their investments.

Did you know that classis cars as an asset class has outperformed the market for investment watches?

Ray White (in for Bruce Whitfield on The Money Show) interviewed Leon Strümpher, Classic Car Investor and Portfolio Manager at Sanlam Private Wealth.

Strümpher spoke about the following:

  • The classic cars market has experienced a consistent rise in value over the past two decades.

  • The growing value of the classic car market in the UK alone is about £5.5 billion.

  • Why South African classic cars are sought-after in Europe and the US.
