Police have fired rubber bullets and stun grenades to disperse a group of about two hundred, sacked Huawei employees.
On Wednesday morning, the axed Huawei workers took to the streets to protest against their dismissal causing heavy traffic backlog.
It is understood the protesters have refused to the clear the road until management at the electronic company addresses them. The workers also claim Huawei terminated their employment contracts via text messages on Tuesday.
Police have now called in a tow truck to start removing the vehicles which have blocking the road since 9 am this morning.— Kgothatso Mogale, EWN Reporter
