WC police are hell bent on fighting crime and rooting out gangsterism

Provincial Police Commissioner Khombinkosi Jula says the police are dedicated to ensuring that crime is dealt with especially in gang infested communities.

He responded to the Courtney Pieters case, a three-year-old who was raped and murdered in Elsies River. Her body was discovered by a search party in Bofors Circle, Epping over the weekend.

Jula says the police will be putting a strong case before the court with regards to Courtney's death and hope that justice will be served.

He spoke about the special task force which they work closely with in making sure that they root out gangsterism.

There is a lot that's being done, however, there's a lot that we still need to do to get down to the bottom of especially gangsterism.

We have operation combat and we have enhanced the capacity of this operation in the province. We are arresting a lot of offenders that are involved in gangsterism.
