Chikane: SACC Unburdening Panel findings on state capture are very serious

The South African Council of Churches (SACC) has released the findings of its Unburdening Panel, which was set up to allow politicians to come forward and reveal information about corruption and state capture.

Former Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan, former Joburg City Manager Trevor Fowler, and the former head of the Hawks Anwar Dramat, former Sars Commissioner Irvin Pillay are among former state officials who attended the event at Regina Mundi church in Soweto.

African National Congress (ANC) stalwart, Reverand Frank Chikane, says the SACC has written a letter about the findings of the report and sent it to the ANC.

Chikane said findings of the panel were more serious than expected.

Former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor, Pravin and former Director General for Public Service and Administration, Themba Maseko, are among those who contributed to the report.
