Florence Masebe on being a mother, a pan African and an activist for the arts

One of South Africa's leading actresses, Florence Masebe sat down with Talk Radio 702's Azania Mosaka for an intimate chat on love for the arts and passion for Africa.

Masebe has worn many hats over the years, starting off by doing kiddies programmes and playing cameo roles before landing bigger gigs which she says was important for her growth in the entertainment industry.

One of the jobs I took in the very early days, I was in an advert for a sparkling water brand. I was in a dolphin costume.

In her later years, Masebe become a household name when she appeared in leading roles on popular dramas such as Generations, Muvhango, 7de Laan, Soul City, Inkaba, Scandal and Task Force.

Through her career, Masebe has taken it upon her self to dispel myths and stigmas about the VhaVenda people.

VhaVenda are among those nations that were looked down upon by fellow blacks. I feel duty bound to be proud of who I am so that other Vhenda people can realise that there is nothing to shy away from about who they are.
