Two people have been injured this afternoon after a train crashed into their light motor vehicle on the Uxbridge crossing in Lakeside in the Western Cape.
ER24 paramedics, along with the Metro Services and Fire Services, arrived on the scene and found the light motor vehicle lying on the tracks next to the train, er24 reports.
It's reported that the two patients have been transported to Victoria Hospital for further treatment following the collision.
No one from the train is said to have sustained any injuries.
Authorities are yet to determine the cause of the collision.
The rail service and surrounding roads in the area have been temporarily closed due to the incident.
It's expected that trains will be delayed on the Southern Line.
