Ford to provide Commission with answers this week

National Consumer Commission spokesperson, Trevor Hattingh, says an investigation into Ford is well underway and the motor company has appointed a law firm to work with the commission.

According to Hattingh, Ford is due to provide responses to the first batch of questions from the commission before the end of the week.

The commission will assess all responses from Ford and the determine whether further investigation is needed.

It is important for the public to know that we have not sat down on our laurels and done nothing.

Trevor Hattingh, National Consumer Commission spokesman

We do have the allegation before us. The allegations are quite serious so we need to look into every aspect to get to the bottom of what was really going on.

CapeTalk's Kieno Kammies spoke to Dr David Klatzow about the Reshall Jimmy's case.

Jimmy allegedly burned to death in his Ford Kuga in 2015 and Klatzow has been helping the family to determine what really happened.

Klatzow says Ford has been self-serving and dishonest in claiming that Jimmy died from a gunshot wound to the head and there was a witness statement in this regard.

There is no evidence whatsoever that Jimmy died of a gunshot wound, no gun was found and no bullet wound from the post-mortem report was mentioned.

I am waiting for Mr Nemeth to say that the car was set alight by aliens, that's the next thing in this saga?

Dr David Klatzow, Independent Forensic consultant

It has emerged that Ford SA offered the Jimmy family a free Ford as compensation, an offer which the family rejected.

My advice to the consumer is that don't buy a Ford, not that the car is bad but because the way the company treats its client is appalling.
