The African National Congress (ANC) national executive committee (NEC) is holding its first meeting since President Jacob Zuma Cabinet reshuffle earlier this year.
The meeting starts on Friday at Irene near Centurion.
EWN reporter, Clement Manyathela, says there are NEC members who reportedly want no-confidence motion against the President on the agenda.
Since the Cabinet reshuffle, which saw Pravin Gordhan being removed as the finance minister, Zuma has been criticised by some members of the NEC, and alliance partners Cosatu and SACP have called for him to step down.
Gordhan is still serving as a member of Parliament and NEC member.
ANC Makhosi Khoza, and three leaders in the top six, general secretary Gwede Mantashe, treasury Zweli Mkhize and Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa have spoken out publicly against the President.
