Africa Melane talks to restauranteur and chef Luke Dale-Roberts about the project with Luke and his team are prepping two lunches in aid of the Noluthando Early Childhood Development Centre and Project Archangel.
Today one of this country's finest culinary talents is taking his pioneering kitchen to this Cape Town's oldest township.
Luke Dale-Roberts who owns the Test Kitchen, is in Langa for a charity event with a tasty difference.
Luke and his team are prepping two lunches in aid of the Noluthando Early Childhood Development Centre and Project Archangel.
The idea was spawned by Langa-born marketing ace and businessman Wanda Guma who convinced Luke to bring his kitchen to Langa.
The two pop-up events will be taking place at the Guga S’Thebe Cultural Arts and Cultural Centre in Langa.
It's been a logistical feat to move food for 140 people, to move warmer boxes, to move ovens and to rent tables, but life's about setting yourself challenges that can benefit others.— Luke Dale-Roberts
He says they wanted to make The Test Kitchen accessible to all while raising money for charity.
They are offering a hearty four-course meal, says Luke.
