We made a mistake - ANC stalwart

ANC Stalwart, Denis Goldberg says the ANC and the country has made a mistake by electing President Jacob Zuma as the President of the republic.

Goldberg was speaking post the ANC NEC meeting which resolved not to remove Jacob Zuma as President.

He says what the President and his cronies are doing is tantamount to theft.

I kept quite for a long time because to speak out against what we were doing wrong would benefit the opposition of the ANC.

Dr Denis Goldberg, ANC Stalwart

The opposition of the ANC is not going to be capable, I believe, of making the transformation we need in our country.

Dr Denis Goldberg, ANC Stalwart

Goldberg says South Africans should speak out against corruption and abuse of power and keep on pressurising the ANC to remove Zuma.

The only legal way for the President to go is for ANC members to remove him. And the only way to influence ANC members is for the public to be outraged and speak, we might see it penetrating to the very house of the top organs of the ANC.

Dr Denis Goldberg, ANC Stalwart

When asked if he will be able to vote for the ANC if it was led by one of Zuma's cronies, Goldberg said "I don't know".

He says a few years ago his answer would've been an automatic yes.
