Kenyan presidential candidates cleared for August general elections

Elections have kicked off in Kenya with all major presidential candidates cleared for the August 8 general elections.

The electoral commission cleared former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as well as two other independent presidential candidates.

Daniel Wesangula, journalist at the Guardian (UK) says President Kenyatta will be running for his second and final term.

There are 8 presidential candidates but all eyes are on the battle between current president Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition Raila Odinga.
