Dr Disa Mogashana has penned a moving account of her life without her father. The memoir, titled; Unfathered is inspired through the dreams she had about her father.
Written as a deeply emotional letter to her father, Mogashana takes the reader through key events in her life including the circumstances surrounding her untimely birth and why she considered herself a bastard.
In her book, she tells her story to alert parents of the consequences of the effects of such a physical and emotional absence in the lives of their children, especially by fathers.
The book also challenges those who grew up in similar circumstances as Mogashana to overcome their challenges and not be defined by their situation.
Mogashana says she wants to challenge her target audience to let go of the things that hold them back and reach their true potential.
Many of us have not identified what we need from these men that have fathered us.— Dr. Disa Mogashana, author of Unfathered
